Bath & Body Works $10 gift cards are again available to purchase.  A great gift idea for Mother’s Day, they are giving an 18% benefit.  For those of you who use Shutterfly, $25 scrip cards are available for special order at 14%, see Dorothea in the school office for more information on any special orders.

What is Scrip?

The scip program is a way for families to help support the parish and school. Scrip are essentially gift certificates. St. John's buys them at a discounted price, then sells them back to you for the full price and you get full value at the store. St. John's receives the "profit" between the face value of the scrip and the discounted price. It may seem small, but the more people that use it, the more money that is raised without costing you anything extra.

Each family is encouraged to purchase at least $400.00 per month in scrip. The program works when stores provide scrip at a discounted price to the parish. Families then purchase the scrip from the school and parish for the face value of the scrip. Stores provide scrip to the parish at discounted rates ranging from 4% to 100% , which is a profit to the parish and school.

An example: You purchase $100 of King Soopers scrip. When you shop and use your scrip at King Soopers you will receive $100 in product. The parish and school receive 5% or $5.00 in profit from your purchase. In addition, there is an extra benefit to you as a school family, we are giving you 60% of the profit you earn to be applied to your tuition. The parish and school recieves the remaining 40% of profit. In this example you would receive $3.00 towards your tuition and $2.00 would go to the parish and school.

  

How can I buy it?

Grocery Certificates/Scrip are available in the school office before, during and after school, before and after each weekend Mass, and in the Parish Office during normal business hours. You must pay by cash or check at the time you place your order. Special Order items may take two weeks.
